Pepper Pride

Another frost warning tonight. This time, with help from family, the plants were covered while it was still daylight. It may be the first of October, so frost protection is a little silly, but my peppers need more time and I intend to give it to them.

I planted them when they were little twigs with their tops chewed off; I made hot caps for them to give them a little boost; I spoke loving words, encouraging words to them; and what did I get in return? Beautiful lush pepper plants, the best I’ve ever grown, with loads of fruit just pleading for another week of sunshine. Well, I can’t provide the sunshine, but I can give them more time and a little protection. We’ll see if that’s enough.

Zesty green parents of three. We grow food and children, and we like them both raw. And I always dress like this.
